Personality
Quick to anger and prone to outbursts of violence, Raven believes she is constantly haunted by phantom ravens. She has a terrible phobia of birds, but despite her aggressive nature she realises deep down that her anger is covering up a deep fear. ("I'm not angry- I'm scared!") She doesn't want to be eaten away by her anger any longer, but she can't seem to overcome her emotions. However, battling Snake is said to have "cleansed her mind", and although she still has a quick temper she's no longer controlled entirely by her emotions.
Like the other beauties, Raven seems to want Snake to feel the emotions she does. ("She'll cling to you and make you feel her pain.") She feels that through making other people suffer with her, it could ease her own pain a little. She suffers from flashbacks, and will panic and probably become violent if she's placed in a situation where she feels there's no escape. Coming out of her beast suit also seems to trigger an episode.
Raven doesn't trust quickly. She hates inescapable and confined spaces, and will quickly panic if she feels trapped. She's also extremely impatient. The Slider that helps her to fly in her beast suit requires a cool-down session after a while, and in this time Raven is seen pounding her fists against the rooftop she's taken to as she waits, yelling "how much longer?!". While she is capable of learning new things (learning how to fly her beast suit, for example), she wouldn't have much patience for it if it wasn't as easy as she hoped for and would probably end up sulking about it for a while.
Her childhood (or lack thereof) didn't give her much time to really develop a sense of self. As a result, once she trusts someone she's easily swayed by them- this could be why she agreed to help Ocelot. She believed, thanks to him, that by killing Snake she'd be freed from her sins and her anger. It sounds insane, but it also shows that not only is she possibly easily led, but she's also desperate to overcome her anger and forget her past. If she thinks that by doing something she'll be liberated, she'll do it.
Once she's befriended someone, she will sometimes start to mimic them in some ways. She has a flair for the dramatic, twirling as she approaches Snake. Despite her trust issues, she will gravitate towards kindness even in strangers. She will cling to soothing words and things that make her feel safe. Having never experienced real luxury before, she will indulge where she can. She knows she's beautiful, and won't hesitate to use her sexuality to exploit someone.
In a sense, Raven could be described as somewhat selfish. While she wouldn't betray a close friend or a member of her unit, she'd just as easily turn on someone who was kind to her but couldn't be considered a friend. Above anything else she wants the ravens she sees everywhere to leave, and doesn't mind making a few sacrifices. She's scared of being caught off-guard or particularly vulnerable, believing the birds to be waiting for the opportunity to finish what they started years ago. She feels safer in her beast suit because it effectively covers her entire body, leaving nowhere for the ravens in her mind to attack her.
